Good Shepherd Services
Good Shepherd Services goes where children, youth, and families face the greatest challenges and builds on their strengths to help them gain skills for success. We provide quality, effective services that deepen connections between family members, within schools, and among neighbors. We work closely with community leaders to advocate, both locally and nationally, on behalf of our participants to make New York City a better place to live and work.
Good Shepherd Services leads in the development of innovative programs that make a difference in the lives of children, youth and families today.
Young people are New York City’s single largest resource. Our continued success and prosperity depend on how well we prepare them for the future. Good Shepherd Services’ youth programs are designed to do just that. Our programs provide children and teens with a safe place to go after-school; give students who are struggling the opportunity to not only graduate from high school but to develop the skills they need to succeed in college; and provide a nurturing environment for adolescent girls who are unable to live at home.
All of these programs for young people are united by a common goal – to create opportunities that help our participants succeed at school, at home, and in their community.

With Research and Service High School, GSS aspires to provide quality and effective services through innovative programs to support students and their families. We develop connections to assist with building on their strengths and inspiring them to develop skills for success. Our approach to the work focuses on viable resources, academic support, professional development and advocacy. Through this approach we aim for students and families to develop a sense of self-respect and self-sufficiency.
